A BRIT school graduate, Gavin Holligan began his working life with an unusual dual career as both a professional musician and a professional footballer, signed to West Ham. However, early injuries and the burgeoning success of his music career led him to retire from football.
Several years on, and now a much respected singer and keyboard player, Gavin has toured with artists from Gloria Gaynor to Duffy. Holligan’s creativity as a songwriter is also well respected in the industry and his original songs have been performed by artists as varied as Frank McCombe and Stooshe.
Most recently Holligan has collaborated with Arrow Benjamin (an artist who featured on Naughty Boy’s number 1 hit single, Runnin’, alongside Beyonce in 2015). Together they’ve produced the track, ‘Sirens’, which Benjamin describes as a personal favourite, due to be released on Benjamin’s debut album. Gavin’s own first release, the EP, Faith to Fly, was picked up by Radio 1 Xtra. In 2018 he releases his debut album of self-penned, original songs, full of gutsy, poetic lyrics and a fresh take on classic Rhythm and Blues.
Gavin Holligan could easily be summed up as a 'modern day - classic artist', delivering much of the craftsmanship you would expect to hear from iconic heroes of old.
